About me and my therapy practice

My name is Diana and I’m an integrative person-centred counsellor. My way of working is primarily relational, founded on my belief that, if you are received by another with empathy, acceptance and authenticity, you have within yourself the capacity to become the person you truly believe you are meant to be. The healing potential of the therapeutic relationship lies at the heart of my work. I am integrative in my openness to drawing on insights from other therapeutic approaches to best meet your needs.

I trained at Network Counselling and Training in Bristol and have completed the introductory course A Way of Being, the Advanced Certificate in Counselling Skills and the Advanced Diploma in Counselling, a BACP accredited course. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and undertake regular continual professional development.

I am a qualified teacher and assist the training department at Network as a mentor, facilitator and tutor. I have a wealth of experience working relationally with adults and young people from a variety of backgrounds, identities and beliefs.

Practice description

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed or depressed? Are you trying to cope with relationship difficulties, a traumatic event, a bereavement? Are you struggling to come to terms with a significant change in your life, such as becoming a parent or carer, facing chronic illness, disability, unemployment, redundancy or retirement? Are you trying to overcome fears or make a difficult decision about the future? Maybe you’re not feeling yourself, or feeling stuck and want to find a way forward?

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, counselling may help. Sometimes just having someone to share our problems with can be healing, talking through with someone who will listen without judgment or giving advice. I will offer you a safe, comfortable and private space to explore what is troubling you and will be alongside you as we figure out and understand more about the issues you bring. Together we will discover new perspectives and ways forward.

I offer 1:1 face-to-face and online video sessions. I work from dedicated, accessible counselling rooms at Network Counselling and Training, Elm Park, Filton, Bristol BS34 7PS, just off the A38; there is parking and public transport nearby.

If you feel ready to take this next step, you are very welcome to contact me.

My first session

Choosing a counsellor can feel daunting. It’s important that you feel comfortable and able to talk freely. That’s why I offer a half-price initial session with no obligation to continue. We will discuss what you hope to get out of counselling, how counselling might help and decide if counselling feels right for you.

If you choose to continue after our initial session, we will arrange a weekly time to meet. We can set a time frame for your counselling or keep things open-ended.
