About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Ashling – a BACP-registered integrative psychotherapist. I offer a warm, down-to-earth space where you can feel safe to explore what’s going on beneath the surface. My path into psychotherapy was shaped by my own experience as a client, through loss and change, therapy helped me reconnect with myself and move through life with more clarity and compassion. That same kind of space is what I now offer to others.
I welcome people from all walks of life who are looking for a space to be heard, understood, and supported. Clients often come to me during times of transition, or when experiencing a feeling of being lost or stuck. Many are navigating issues around self-esteem, relationships, people-pleasing, anxiety or grief, and are seeking a stronger sense of who they are.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw from different therapeutic models to suit your individual needs. At the core of my work is the belief that therapy is a space to reconnect with yourself, gently and honestly. I work relationally, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic, and parts-based approaches, and I often incorporate body-awareness methods when appropriate.
Together, we explore the parts of you that may have been pushed aside or silenced, and build greater self-awareness, compassion and choice. I aim to offer a calm and steady presence as we work through things at your pace.
Practice description
In therapy with me, you won’t be met with judgment, but with honesty, compassion, and a deep respect for your story. Some sessions may feel reflective and slow, others more practical and focused, it’s your space, and we go at your pace.
If something here resonates, I’d love to hear from you. You can reach out for a free 20-minute consultation - no pressure, just a chance to see if we might be a good fit.
My first session
What to expect working with me? Firstly, via email, we will arrange an initial 20-minute consultation. At this meeting, you will have the opportunity to ask me any questions about the way I work and I will find out a little about you and how therapy can help you at this time. Then we can arrange a regular time and day for our sessions going forward.
Starting therapy can bring up mixed feelings and emotions. My aim is to make your first session feel as comfortable as possible, where the session will go at your pace. The first session is a great opportunity to talk about what's brought you to therapy, whilst also getting comfortable talking to a new therapist.
