About me and my therapy practice
I work with individuals and couples navigating the more complicated parts of life and relationships.
You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stressed or stuck, struggling with low self-esteem, difficult emotions or patterns that keep repeating. You might be questioning who you are or what you want, trying to make sense of a major life change, loss or difficult experience.
For couples, you may feel caught in the same arguments, disconnected from one another or unsure how to move forward. I work with relationship difficulties including communication, intimacy, infidelity, trust, parenting, separation and decisions about whether to stay together.
Life doesn’t have to be falling apart for therapy to help. Sometimes you simply know that something doesn’t feel right, or that the ways you have learned to cope or relate are no longer working for you.
I’m an Integrative Psychotherapist, BACP Registered therapist and COSRT Registered Couples & Relationship Therapist. I am also an ICF Accredited Coach (ACC), working with leaders, founders and professionals navigating pressure, burnout, career change and significant decisions.
My experience includes private practice, Mind, The Priory and work with NHS services. My training includes a Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling - Regent's University, Level 7, an Advanced Diploma in Relationship Psychotherapy - NAOS, Level 7 and training with The Gottman Institute.
I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of what is happening, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work towards meaningful, lasting change.
Practice description
Therapy with me is collaborative, thoughtful and tailored to you. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw on psychodynamic, attachment-based, cognitive and trauma-informed approaches. This means we can explore both what is happening in your life now and how earlier experiences, relationships and ways of coping may be influencing how you think, feel and relate today.
Often, the difficulties we experience make more sense when we understand the patterns underneath them. You may notice yourself choosing similar relationships, reacting strongly in certain situations, putting everybody else first, struggling to trust, avoiding conflict or repeating behaviours you understand intellectually but still find difficult to change.
Therapy can also be practical. Depending on what you need, we may work on managing anxiety and overwhelm, regulating difficult emotions, challenging unhelpful thinking, developing healthier boundaries, communicating differently or finding new ways to respond when old patterns are triggered.
In couples therapy, the relationship itself becomes our focus. Rather than deciding who is right or wrong, we look at what happens between you, the cycles you become caught in, what sits beneath conflict or disconnection and what each of you needs to feel heard, understood and secure. I work with communication difficulties, intimacy, recurring conflict, infidelity and betrayal, trust, parenting, separation and relationship uncertainty.
Ultimately, therapy is about understanding yourself and each other more deeply, healing what needs attention and creating change that can continue beyond the therapy room.
My first session
You don’t need to know exactly what you need from therapy before getting in touch.
I offer a free 10-minute initial call where we can briefly talk about what is bringing you to therapy, what you might be looking for and whether I may be the right person to help. You can ask any questions you have and there is no obligation to book a session.
If we decide to work together, our first sessions give me time to understand more about you, your circumstances and what you would like to change. For couples, I will also want to understand your relationship, what has brought you to therapy and each partner’s perspective on what is happening. You won’t be expected to tell me everything at once. We go at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Just as importantly, the first sessions give you the opportunity to decide how you feel working with me. Qualifications and experience matter, but therapy is also very much about the relationship and feeling comfortable enough to bring your stuff.
