About me and my therapy practice

Do you feel out of balance and struggling with mood swings? Perhaps you feel misunderstood in relationships or at work, and this causes frustration and or anxiety? Do you feel like a stranger to yourself sometimes, and like it is hard to connect with what is actually going on for you emotionally? Maybe you also struggle with low self-worth and confidence?

I am an integrative therapist with a special interest in working with clients that struggle with hormonal changes and issues including PMS, PMDD, pain and low mood during menstruation, endometriosis, perimenopause or menopause. If you struggle with any of the above I would love to hear from you.

Therapy with me would involve looking at how to connect to what you are feeling and sit with whatever that might be without judgement, it would be talking about how feeling misunderstood by others really feels and in what ways that this is affecting your sense of self, your relationships and your work, and it would also mean us thinking about coping mechanism for when things are really overwhelming and difficult. It would also mean sitting with how these hormonal changes sit with other parts of you such as how it might overlap with neurodiversity such as ADHD and autism.

In terms of my therapeutic modality I work integratively which means I will be using different tools and theories. We may draw on humanistic ideas such as person-centred therapy, which values your unique experiences and empowers you to make positive changes. We may also bring in existential and psychodynamic practices, such as attachment theory, to understand how your past relationships might be influencing your present. I offer a decolonising and queer-affirmative space.
