About me and my therapy practice

Are you concerned about your teenager, do you feel that it has become difficult to communicate with your child? I'm here to provide a supportive space for you and/or your child to explore the challenges you're facing.

Experience Working with Young People

Over the last 12 years, I have been supporting children and adolescents, both in schools and through private counselling services. I support young people who are experiencing anxiety, low mood, lack of motivation, relationship issues as well as working with young individuals who exhibit characteristics associated with autism spectrum disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), regardless of formal diagnosis.

In the wake of the pandemic, the mental well-being of our youth has faced significant challenges. I strive to cultivate a secure and nurturing environment where teenagers and/ or their parents can openly express their concerns and anxieties. Through collaborative efforts, we can develop tailored strategies to help these young individuals navigate their surroundings effectively, ultimately enhancing their emotional resilience and overall well-being.

Counselling Approach

As a BACP-registered counsellor, I offer online and face-to-face counselling services in the Brighton and Hove area. I completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Therapeutic Counselling and have continued my professional development to include other modalities like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This allows me to tailor my services to the individual needs of each client.

My approach is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental, providing a space for you or your child to explore challenges and discover your own solutions. I'm here to listen, support, and guide you through this process.

I have been supporting people since 2009 with a wide range of ages (4-80) and issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, self-harm and dependency problems.

Practice description

Initial contact

I offer a free 20-minute phone call to explore how I can best support you or your young person and set up an initial assessment session.

Assessment session

During this meeting, I will gather more information about your needs and goals. Giving you an opportunity to discuss your background, current issues, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. It also allows you to get a sense of my approach and ask any clarifying questions. This is a chance for you to see if you feel comfortable working with me.

Counselling sessions

I offer individual and duo (parent-child) sessions, which can take place either in-person at her home in Hove or online. If you both agree to continue, we will meet on a weekly basis at a mutually convenient time.

I provide open-ended, short-term (recommended 8 sessions), or long-term support, depending on your individual needs. My counselling approach is tailored to each client, helping you re-discover your strengths and learn new coping strategies.
