About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome. I’m Caroline - a fully qualified and experienced person-centred and integrative counsellor. I have many years’ experience providing therapy and sharing precious time with children, young people, adults, couples and families.

We all have times where we experience difficulties that feel too much or situations where we feel stuck. Feelings and emotions that can make us feel overwhelmed. You may not be sure of what is wrong but you are aware that something doesn’t feel quite right.

Time has a wonderful way of showing us what really matters in our lives. In his book ‘The wisdom of slowing down.’ Eknath Easwaren talks about the conscious act of taking our time “Every moment is a doorway to meaning, purpose and joy. The key is an unhurried mind.”

All my work comes from a place of warmth, kindness and safety. Together we can bring awareness and transformation to areas that might feel stuck or broken. You can reconnect to your own inner wisdom and find ways of living a more fulfilling and joyful life.

Practice description

I would welcome the opportunity to meet you and understand more about you and your situation. Together we can talk about what might be at the heart of your difficulties and how therapy can help you.

My practice - The Croft Counselling – is in a nourishing, safe space, nestled into my quiet garden located in Ballaugh. I offer a relaxed, non-judgemental, confidential space, where you can feel comfortable to express how you truly feel; sharing openly about what you are experiencing.

I also offer sessions in natural settings. We walk or sit during these sessions, as you wish. This is an alternative to traditional therapy which suits some people, particularly those who feel connected with nature.

I also work with couples and offer relationship counselling.

My first session

I offer an initial telephone conversation of 30 minutes to discuss what support you are looking for and how we might work together. There is no charge for this.

We can then discuss the possibility of further sessions and timing.

The first full session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other more and to decide if you would like to have further sessions, or if another service is perhaps more suitable. Ongoing sessions are weekly. My sessions are 50 minutes long

This gives you the chance to get an idea of how I work and whether this might be right for you.
