About me and my therapy practice

I have many years experience as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in the NHS, the voluntary sector and in private practice. I have been involved in my training organisatons in many different roles including teaching and supervising.  I am also very curious to understand what works best for whom.

I offer a safe and confidential place for clients to explore their feelings and difficulties and to come to new solutions. This will usually involve understanding early attachments and repeated patterns of relating and will involve also looking at the therepeutic relationship as it evolves. I am increasingly interested in how feelings are experienced in the body and how to regulate emotions. I am very mindful of the importance of working reliably and ethically whilst at the same time being flexible where appropriate.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced therapist who has worked for many years in the NHS, the Voluntary and Charitable Sectors as well as in Private Practice. I have trained as a Psychodynamic Therapist as well as completing a subsequent training in Jungian analysis.  I qualified as a Supervor in 2000 and am a member of the British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervison.

I am also very interested in understanding neuroscience and how trauma impacts the brain's capacity to deal with emotions as well how these are experienced in the body.

I am open to new thinking and enjoy supervising therapists who come from different training backgrounds.
