About me and my therapy practice
As a counsellor, I approach my work with a client-centred and strengths-based perspective. This means that I focus on my client's unique experiences, strengths, and goals and work with them to develop individualized plans for growth and change.
I believe that therapy should be a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their feelings and experiences and work through challenges and difficulties. I use talk therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and other therapeutic approaches to help my clients address their symptoms, understand their experiences, and develop new skills and strategies for coping and change.
I understand that therapy can be a vulnerable and emotional experience, and I work to create a warm and supportive environment where my clients feel comfortable and safe. I am dedicated to providing my clients with the guidance and support they need to overcome their challenges and improve their well-being.
In summary, my approach to counselling is centred on understanding my client's unique experiences and strengths and working with them to develop personalized plans for growth and change. Whether it is depression, drug use, alcohol use, abandonment, relationships, confidence, self-harm, domestic violence, substance abuse, anger management, bullying, stress, or suicide, I am here to provide my clients with the support and guidance they need to achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives.
I am also the creator of the personal development app called SayNow.app.
My counselling practice is focused on providing a safe, supportive, and confidential environment where individuals can explore their feelings and experiences and work through the challenges and difficulties they face in life. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process, and I work with my clients to develop personalized plans for growth and change based on their unique needs and goals.
I use talk therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and other therapeutic approaches to help my clients address a range of issues, including depression, drug and alcohol use, abandonment, relationships, confidence, self-harm, and domestic violence, as well as substance abuse, anger management, bullying, stress, and suicide.
I believe that addiction and other challenges require a holistic approach, and I work with my clients to address not only their symptoms but also the root causes of their difficulties. This may involve exploring patterns of thought and behaviour, developing new coping skills and strategies, and addressing underlying emotional and psychological issues.
Whether you are seeking help for the first time or have been in therapy before, I am here to provide the support and guidance you need to achieve your goals and lead a fulfilling life. I am committed to creating a warm and empathetic environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and experiences, and I am dedicated to helping you overcome the challenges you face and improve your well-being.
My first session
During the first session, my goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable and relaxed. I understand that starting therapy can be a daunting experience, and I work to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can feel at ease.
During this session, we will discuss the reasons why you are seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve. I will ask you about your background, including any experiences or challenges that may be affecting your well-being. This information will help me to better understand your needs and develop a personalized plan for your therapy.
In addition to talking about your experiences, I will also explain how therapy works and answer any questions you may have about the process. This includes explaining the different types of therapeutic approaches I use, how often we will meet, and what you can expect during your therapy journey.
It is important that you feel comfortable with me as your therapist, and I will encourage you to ask any questions or express any concerns you may have. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a crucial part of the therapy process, and I will work to establish a strong and supportive relationship with you from the start.
At the end of the first session, we will discuss your goals for therapy and make a plan for your next session.
In summary, the first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and start the process of exploring your experiences and working towards your goals. I am here to support you and provide you with the guidance you need to overcome the challenges you face and lead a fulfilling life.
