About me and my therapy practice

I am an Accredited Therapist and have run my Private Practice for 15 years

I work with Adults, Teens and Couples with a wide range of issues.

I work frequently within the LGBT Community, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Relationship Issues, sexuality, ADHD/ASC, Abuse, Burnout, separation, Divorce, Stress etc

I work Face to Face, Remotely Online or Telephone. I am also insured to offer Outdoors Counselling sessions where we walk and talk.

The relationship between myself and my clients is the MOST important factor of the work I do. I am very down to earth with my approach.

Coming into therapy can be daunting, the majority of my clients feel anxious before coming to see me. That is so normal!!!! I would be surprised at anyone who would not feel anxious before coming to meet a stranger to talk about in depth personal issues you may not have ever shared with another human being.

Coming out later in Life; Sexuality; Relationship diversity; Attachment Theory: Finding yourself in problematic Relationships; Trauma; LGBTQA+; Depression;Stress

I also work with counselling students who need personal therapy hours for their course. For this I do a discount.

I am an Accredited Therapist so work for Private Health Companies. For an example I am a Bupa Provider and you will find me on their Provider list. I also work for KCC in Counselling Teachers and the NHS.

I am a Counselling supervisor and supervise fellow counsellors work.  I am on the supervisor part of this website for more information on how I work.

About me and my therapy practice

For myself, the most important part of Supervision is the relationship I have between myself and my Supervisee. This is an important part of my Private Practice and my own work with my own clients. It is key to the work we will do together.

Counselling is by its very nature a ‘lonely’ job that can involve little interaction with others outside of the clients themselves. This means that it can sometimes be difficult to monitor and track progress and stop you from getting into ‘bad habits.’ Supervision provides a space for you to properly acknowledge and challenge any blind spots in your practice and think about you may handle situations better in the future. It encourages regular, ongoing reflection to ensure that you continue working in an ethical  and professional way. Being in supervision not only provides greater information about the client and how they are experiencing you,  but also increases your level of self-awareness and confidence.

Now abit about me. I have had my own private practice for approx 15 years. I have worked at a Grammar School, a primary school for a few years, EKRCC and work alongside my local secondary schools. I work frequently with couples and the LGBTQ+ community, and also cover most counselling issues.
