How has the loss of a father before the age of eighteen impacted upon a counsellor's development, journey to becoming a counsellor, and therapeutic practice?
The research involves studying the impact of losing a father before the age of eighteen on development, the journey to becoming a counsellor and therapeutic practice. The research will involve a semi-structured interview of approximately one hour on Zoom.
Inclusion criteria:
- Over 18
- Loss of a father before the age of eighteen
- Qualified Counsellor and in counselling supervision
- Member of the BACP or other recognized counselling body
- Sufficiently grounded in the experience of loss to participate safely in the interview
