The Therapist’s experience of having a Menopausal hot flush’ in a
face-to-face counselling session

My name is Angela, and I am currently studying a BSc Counselling course at Guildford College, validated by The University of Middlesex.

The participant criteria for inclusion,
• Therapists with three years post qualification experience,
• Therapist who identify as menopausal and
• Therapist who has had a menopausal hot flush whilst working face-to face in a counselling session.

If you are selected as a participant, you will be required to attend an online interview, at a mutually agreed time. The interview will last sixty minutes.

You will be asked a series of questions, designed to enable you to share your experience in its entirety.

With your consent all sessions will be recorded, all answers will be anonymized and used in the research.

All participants are required to arrange support from a personal therapist and/or supervisor, as there is the possibility that the interview may evoke emotions and feelings.

Participation is voluntary so if at any point you wish to be withdrawn from the research, please advise by 30th April 2024 and your information and data will be destroyed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

On completion of the interview there will be a short debrief and you will receive a debriefing document.
