I am a Level 6 Integrative Counselling student undertaking a small-scale qualitative research project exploring how counsellors understand and respond to women’s anger within therapeutic practice. Women’s anger has historically been viewed through a variety of social, cultural and psychological lenses.

This study aims to explore counsellors’ experiences of working with female clients who present with anger, including how anger is recognised, understood and responded to within the therapeutic relationship.

I am seeking qualified counsellors who:

• Are currently practising

• Have experience working therapeutically with female clients

Participation will involve taking part in a one-to-one semi-structured interview. Interviews will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams at a mutually convenient time and will be recorded with participants’ consent for transcription purposes. Participation is entirely voluntary, and all data will be anonymised and handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Guidelines for Research in the Counselling Professions.

The study aims to contribute to a greater understanding of how women’s anger is experienced and worked with in counselling practice, and whether it influences the therapeutic relationship.

Please see here for more information.
