The NHS in England continues to struggle with sluggish productivity growth and it has been set ambitious minimum productivity targets of 2% annually for much of remainder of this decade. Similar, if less specific, productivity challenges have been set for health services in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
To support our organisational response to these challenges, we're seeking to commission an organisation to partner with us to deliver our NHS productivity project.
We're focused on deepening our knowledge of how these priorities will impact counselling and psychotherapy, how the professions could respond and where these productivity targets might open up opportunities for our members in the NHS over the short and medium term.
This project is part of our on-going programme of work to improve understanding of counselling and psychotherapy among NHS leaders and commissioners, increase the availability of counselling and psychotherapy for the public through the NHS and to generate greater career opportunities for counsellors and psychotherapists within the NHS.
If you have any questions regarding the project please contact Matthew Smith-Lilley, Policy and Engagement Lead for Mental Health at matthew.smith-lilley@bacp.co.uk
