About me and my therapy practice
MSc Integrative Psychotherapy, University of Wales. BACP Accredited Member.
Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision.
I have over twenty years experience as a therapist within the NHS, private practice and the workplace. For 15 years I worked in a Primary Care Mental Health Team as well as having my own practice in central Manchester. I offer short and long term counselling and psychotherapy, working with a range of issues and clients. I also provide wellness and well being training for organisations.
Sometimes life events and/or relationships can feel difficult or unmanageable. Or we realise we are repeating unhelpful behaviours, but feel unable to understand why or how to make changes. We can feel stuck, stressed, fearful, anxious or depressed. Talking, in confidence, to a professional therapist can enable us to explore and make sense of these issues and make more productive life decisions and choices.Evidence shows that clients consistently state that what they find most helpful is a positive therapeutic relationship. With this in mind, I strive to offer a confidential, creative, safe and challenging relationship in which to explore presenting difficulties and underlying, maybe historical or unconscious, processes. We work to explore how our past relationships and experiences may inform how we behave, think and feel, in the present.
Practice description
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist which means that I integrate methods from several theories in a thoughtful and considered manner. I regard the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of our work together. Within that relationship we can safely explore thoughts, feelings, behaviours, ideas, bodily sensations and our reactions to each other and our work together. Together we co- create an environment of trust and collaboration in which to find healing and growth through self reflection, insight, raised self awareness and embodied experience.
Counselling and psychotherapy can be challenging and hard work but it can enable us to find a way to explore our inner world, possibly change our external world, and manage what can seem unmanageable. An opportunity to fully reach our potential.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and experienced clinical supervisor, offering supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists and a variety of health and social care professionals.
I am an integrative practitioner, informed by humanistic and psychodynamic theory. I work relationally and offer the opportunity to use the supervisory relationship to enhance the client therapist/counsellor relationship. We may work with conscious and unconscious processes, themes of transference, countertransference and parallel process. I see supervision as a space for material to emerge and to be explored in a safe, contained, sometimes challenging, experiential and learning environment.
There may be a need, at times, to focus on the ethical, theoretical or practical aspects of practice. I aim to do this in a collaborative, informative and supportive relationship and environment.
I work face to face from my office in central Manchester and from home in Sale, as well offering remote sessions on line.
