The BACP Register includes those members who have met our standards for registration. If you can’t find someone this may be because:
BACP is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority through their Accredited Register programme. The programme accredits registers of people who work in health and social care roles that are not statutory regulated. It’s jurisdiction is limited to those who are resident in the UK only and has no jurisdiction elsewhere. One of the requirements of registration is that the member has professional indemnity insurance in place. We are aware that in a few countries this insurance isn’t available for counselling and psychotherapy practitioners and so a very small number of our members have been unable to obtain this but have been able to remain on our Register.
