About me and my therapy practice
Specialism: Every therapist has an individual focus and mine is to work with adolescents and adults. I have a particular empathy for those who have experienced trauma in their early years, for those with crushed confidence and low self-worth as well as those with a highly sensitive personality. I champion all of my clients and believe that restoration of value, identity and purpose is possible for all.
Professionalism: I am qualified to Masters level and my training includes Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing - Levels 1, 2 and 3), Trauma Recovery and High Sensitivity. In addition, I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
Accessibility: Whilst my face-to-face counselling is based in Ballymena, I also offer online counselling sessions across Northern Ireland and GB. Online has worked well for teens and adults alike.
Life: I am a Christian, married and have two teens at home and one young adult away at university. We also have an 'always hungry' retriever and a 'super-sensitive' spaniel! I work with those of all faiths and none. A typical share of life's challenges, yet love has always proven to be more powerful than fear and shame.
