About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I work with both Adults and Children from 11yrs. I'm a qualified Integrative counsellor that helps to develop emotional grounding and balance. I use both theory and mindfulness to gain clarity, deep healing and change.

If you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed I can help you to develop and practice new strategies that will support you both in your present and future life.  I offer a compassionate, supportive environment to enable you to dig a bit deeper and understand how your thoughts can be shifted to serve you in more positive and transformative ways, helping you to move forward and create the life you want.

If you are feeling stuck, I will aim to support you to create positive changes  by setting boundaries with empathy  for yourself and towards others.  I offer Narrative therapy to gently challenge  you to look at your past with a new lens and encourage you to  re- write  some of the  stories that you may have developed and carried through your life, that may be hurting you or holding you back.

I can help you improve your relationship with yourself and the people in your life by learning how to set boundaries with care. I will support you to  explore your ways of relating through Transactional Analysis. This theory can help you to understand your behaviour through different ego states and provide you with opportunities to change and improve the ways in which you communicate.

I offer creative techniques such as paint, clay,  or sand trays for example  if these feel right for you. These techniques can help you to  explore your emotions and feelings in a therapeutic way. You don't have to be good at art, just be curious to discover areas of your self that maybe blocked or hidden from your present awareness.

Gestalt therapy which is a holistic and person centred form of psychotherapy that can help you to explore immediate awareness of how you are in the moment, without judgement  It can help you to improve a sense of self- control, and  increase your emotional understanding.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Pooni. I'm a qualified Integrative counsellor that helps to develop emotional grounding and balance. My philosophy of counselling embodies Humanistic, Existential and Psychodynamic approaches.

Sometimes it's difficult to talk openly. We may worry about burdening others with our problems and begin to suppress difficult emotions and experiences. This suppression can cause ruptures in the way we relate to ourselves and others.

A therapeutic space can provide you with a space to talk freely and without judgement. A space in which you can feel heard and understood. It can give you the time to explore past and present experiences safely.

This process brings light to areas of darkness. Self- knowledge that was previously blurred on the edges of your awareness, can begin to sharpen and come into full view. Areas of confusion are replaced with clarity.

This clarity can provide you with the self- knowledge to understand where changes need to be made and how to make them. This begins a process of change.

I offer a variety of Therapeutic interventions that can support your journey. These interventions can provide you with the strategies and knowledge to grow your life. This expansion can be empowering.

I will offer opportunities to re- write some of the stories that you have developed and carried through your life, that may have been hurting you or holding you back.

Creative exercises invite the exploration of your subconscious thoughts and feelings. This can provide you with new information about your past, and present experience that can inform future plans and give guidance.

Therapy can support you to navigate difficulties and find a safe path towards your future.

Taking the first steps towards counselling can be difficult. It’s not easy to ask for help. I aim to try and support your journey with compassion and care.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello my name is Pooni.

I offer a relaxed,  confidential, retreat from your life. A non- judgmental, safe space where you are invited to explore the issues you are facing that may be creating anxiety, depression, despair or overwhelm.

I understand through my own lived experiences that life can challenge us in many ways and it is ok to ask for some support. You do not have to make this journey alone. It can be useful to share our concerns, difficult experiences or anxieties in a safe space, in order to gain fresh perspective and clarity.

I work with  Adults, Young people and Children over 11 years and offer a flexible,  face to face, online and telephone counselling.

I am trained in Integrative counselling which means I offer a holistic mind and body approach to explore safe pathways through your struggles and navigate difficulties whether they are individual, relational or family based issues. I combine a variety of blend of counselling approaches including CBT, Transactional Analysis, Systems therapy, Attachment therapy and Psychological education.

I work in an intuitive, mindful way to gain understanding of how you are being impacted by your experiences and will support you through a gentle exploration of your past and present experiences in order to  provide opportunities for you to heal and grow your life.

Anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief  or negative thinking are a part of life and therefore I offer a range of tools and strategies that can help you to cope with yours better.

Taking the first steps towards counselling can be difficult. I understand that it’s not easy to ask for help. I aim to try and support this journey with compassion and care.

I work with a range of issues so please do ask more for information.

If you would like to have an informal chat about how counselling could support your life and how we could work together please do get in touch. I am happy to answer any questions you may have or walk you through your first steps towards counselling.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I work with both Adults and Children from 11yrs. I'm a qualified Integrative counsellor that helps to develop emotional grounding and balance. Therapy invites the opportunity to gain clarity, deep healing and change.

I work face to face at my practice in Exeter and offer flexible online counselling to other parts of the UK.

If you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed I can help you to develop and practice new strategies that will support you both in your present and future life. I offer a compassionate, supportive environment to enable you to dig a bit deeper and understand how your thoughts can be shifted to serve you in more positive and transformative ways, helping you to move forward and move towards the life you want.

The counselling I offer integrates a combination of approaches that can be used to support your individual needs. For example:

Narrative therapy can be used to gently challenge you to look at your past with a new lens and encourage you to re- write some of the stories that you may have developed and carried through your life, that may be hurting you or holding you back.

Transactional Analysis can help you improve your relationship with yourself and the people in your life. This theory supports the understanding of your behaviour through different ego states and provides you with opportunities to improve the ways in which you communicate.

I also offer lived experience to support individuals with cultural concerns,  identity and racism. I can help you explore  suppressed negative impacts of racial trauma that may be blocked or hidden from your present awareness. Working collaboratively, I can support a safe and gentle release of stuck emotions and help you to free yourself from past experiences, that may be holding you back or impacting your self.

My approach is holistic and person centred form of counselling and psychotherapy and I use intuitive observations of the present moment and a gentle exploration of your past experiences.
