About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist. I practice Psychotherapy, CBT and short-term, solution focused therapy. I have been working as a therapist in Brighton and Hove and East Sussex since 2005, and have worked as a voluntary counsellor for MIND. People come to me for addiction therapy, bereavement and loss, depression therapy, stress and anxiety counselling, relationship therapy, improving self-esteem, alcohol and drug counselling and confidence building.
Practice description
I have two main practices one in 7 dials in Brighton close to the station. Its an old fashioned therapy room with completely private double doors. There is a long side alley to the entrance and it sits as a separate building next to a large house. The therapy room overlooks a wild garden. The bus to the dials is a no 7 or 27. Get off at Compton Avenue stop. Some limited parking is available before 5pm with the local parking app. There is no reception so it is important to come at the exact time.
The other venue is my home I prefer to see clients day time here as its more private, but I do have some early evening appointments if necessary. No reception so please come at your exact slot time There is a knocker and bell, please use both if in doubt.
Preston Park Clinic (Brighton Counsultancy Rooms) - Preston Park side, right next to the station. Limited parking available please allow up to 20 mins to park. This is a shared clinic with other therapists and clients and a reception in the mornings till 1pm Affternoons it is unmanned so please come at the exact time and press the buzzer for the room number we will be in.
My first session
The first session is a chance to see if we might work well together, and for me to understand what you want out of therapy. There is no obligation to continue past this session if you don't wish to and I will also make sure I am comfortable to work with your issues.
I will explain the boundaries of therapy and the conditions and we will agree this. Towards the end of the session having got to know you a bit better we can then brainstorm a care plan for you and work out check back/review points on your progress.
We can discuss how we will know when the therapy is complete and the main problems you want to focus on.
The charge is reduced to £30 as it is a trial. I also offer concessions on further sessions for students, jobseekers, those retired, or on a low income.

Practice description
Therapy is held in my private house which is shared with other people, however they are respectful of my business and are usually not there in the daytime. There is paid parking available, it's easy to park and there are buses 7 and 27 which stop within 5 minutes walk from the location.
There is also the option to hold the sessions in other therapy rooms in Brighton, which can be viewed under my profile.
