About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified Diploma level BACP counsellor. I have experience in working with a range of emotional and psychological health difficulties including anxiety, depression, relationship problems and addiction. I have extensive experience working in the voluntary sector for Change, Grow, Live- a nationwide organisation supporting people with homelessness and poor mental health.
I have just completed my BACP/Open Uni qualification for on-line counselling, this included texting, email and Video conferencing. I have Skype and Zoom available. My rates are £35 per 50 min session and concessions are available.
I believe people come to therapy looking for answers. You cannot make sense of the strong emotions you feel, often overwhelming, confusing and maybe with a sense of helplessness. I will always start by listening and tuning into who you are and what you've been through and how to help you to come out of your experiences with a greater sense of self awareness and understanding. Peoples personalities are all very different and unique, our journey through childhood and adolescence is often damaged by trauma and our development effected. This can often have a profound effect on creating loving long term relationships. These developmental traumas will come out during adulthood and we finally seek help and therapy. What kind of therapy you need you may not be sure but what you do know is you need to talk and need some help to make sense of it all. Having someone to share a journey of self development can be exhilarating and life changing as it was for me. It takes time to heal, take that time, your worth it.
I offer online counselling via Skype and Zoom. I practice in a very eclectic way, using a range of different counselling technics that i can use to meet your specific needs. These include CBT, Psychotherapy, Humanistic Person centred, Jungian Existential spiritual approach.
I bring a rich life experience around family issues, step families and modern eclectic family life, giving me personal insight into the complex world of family emotions and dynamics. I worked extensively in the music business for many years as a working musician in London and have experience around creative people and creative thinking, I have teaching qualifications and been active in home schooling foreign students, I am at present working with children with a range of different physical and psychological conditions.
I have been trained in the Integrative approach and use a range of different counselling techniques such as CBT, Humanistic Person Centred and Psychotherapy. Whether you’re having relationship/family problems, or just anxious about the future I will support you throughout the counselling process. We can meet in a first session and you can decide where to go from there. The relationship between you and me as your counsellor will be a key factor that will create trust, respect and a good working relationship for you to express yourself and work through your issues and problems. It can be a difficult decision when going into counselling and a key moment in one’s life.
