Psychotherapeutic / Counselling Approaches

Every client is different and I use different approaches depending on your needs.

  • Systemic psychotherapy looks at you as an individual and also how you are in relationships. How do you manage and act with others? What patterns of behaviour do you have that may or may not be helpful? Some of these patterns come from our childhood and families, others come from our experiences of life in general. When we recognize them we can start manage them
  • Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) looks at how our environment, thoughts, behaviours and emotions are interconnected and not always fixed in stone. It is a psycho-social intervention that aims to challenge and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours and at improving emotional regulation. Like most psychotherapeutic interventions, it is aimed at developing your coping strategies and targeting current problems

I use other models including Attachment Theory, Transactional Analysis, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy and Rogerian Humanistic Therapy
