About me and my therapy practice

Hello and a warm welcome to my profile. I am an experienced therapist working face-to-face from my offices in Eastleigh and Romsey, as well as online and by telephone. I work with adults and couples and offer both short and long term therapy. I specialise in helping clients with anxiety, depression and relationship problems.

Individual therapy

My therapeutic approach is warm, empathic and accepting. I offer a safe and confidential environment where you can talk openly about the issues that bring you to therapy. I always aim to work collaboratively with you, and adapt the pace and focus of our sessions to suit your individual needs. To ensure you achieve your therapy goals in our work together, I offer regular reviews and invite your feedback on our sessions.

My specialist areas of interest are anxiety, depression and relationship problems. In addition, I am trained and experienced in helping with a wide range of other issues. These include stress at home and at work, self-harm, panic attacks, OCD, self-criticism and low confidence, self-sabotage, feelings of shame, anger management, trauma and abuse. I also deal with more general problems, such as inner conflict, feelings of dissatisfaction with life, or a lack of fulfilment and direction.

Couples therapy

Couples and relationship therapy is suitable for any couple – heterosexual, same-sex, or family, such as mother and daughter. Whether your relationship is under strain from unresolved conflicts, resentments, communication problems, life changes, or any other struggles, couples therapy can help you work through these issues, deepen your understanding of each other, and find a way forward.

My approach integrates Transactional Analysis and Emotionally Focused Therapy, both of which offer practical and effective ways of improving relationships. Couples therapy is usually short-term, with couples attending for an average of 10-12 sessions.

Practice description

I am trained in Transactional Analysis, a therapeutic approach that explains how our past experiences and relationships impact us in the present, and how we can positively process and change any unhelpful thinking, feeling, behavioural and relational patterns that prevent us from being true to ourselves and to those around us. I also integrate other approaches in my work; these include Gestalt, Person-centred, Focusing Oriented Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, and Polyvagal theory. Additionally, I draw on creative and experiential methods such as Mindfulness, grounding, visualisations and art therapy.

Qualifications:

- Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy

- FdA in Humanistic Counselling (Transactional Analysis)

- Certificate in Couples Work (Physis Scotland)

- BA (Hons) Philosophy

- Transactional Analysis 101
