About me and my therapy practice

I’m an psychotherapist with a special focus on how our bodies, emotions, and minds work together, especially when dealing with trauma. Without us being aware, some experiences can create a deep-seated imprint on our psyche. It is therefore my belief that therapy which pays attention to all three spheres (physical, emotional and cognitive levels of being) can substantially support us in moving forward and fostering resilience and inner balance.

I am a fully certified Integrative Counsellor and Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, which means that I am trained in a range of body-mind-spirit encompassing approaches. At its baseline, my practice follows humanistic philosophies and puts the client's world of coping and experiencing things first. I believe that it is the unique nature of the relationship between me and my clients that has the capacity to empower change most.

This means that in my role as a counsellor, I do not tend to take an 'expert' stance and instead hold the belief that most human beings are naturally oriented towards growth. In this vein, therapy, can be seen as a co-operative process in which we can explore, untangle, and resolve life blocks or constricting patterns together.

Practice description

I offer face-to-face counselling sessions in the Wimbledon, Raynes Park and Merton area, as well as UK-wide online therapy sessions utilising Zoom.

I have both NHS and private practice experience which has led me to provide psychotherapy for a range of symptoms and mental health matters (e.g. depression, C-PTSD, dissociation, complex grief, and anxiety).

In addition to this, I have specialised in providing therapy for the mental health impacts resulting from adverse childhood experiences, sudden loss, and family estrangement. I also have experience in the therapeutic exploration of issues that can arise in relation to sexual orientation (e.g. coming out and internalised shame).

In the past I have worked for a local Women's Centre, The Samaritans Charity, and therapy groups for people who experienced complex traumatic bereavements.
