About me and my therapy practice

I work within three main modalities. I often integrate CBT interventions into long term psychotherapy.

Person Centered Psychotherapy - (Rogerian): Sessions are weekly to treat common mental health difficulties and trauma.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - (CBT): Sessions are weekly to treat anxiety, low mood, poor self esteem, anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder.

Family Based Treatment - (FBT): Sessions are weekly to treat anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Family-based treatment is a leading treatment for adolescent eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa.

Managing physical and mental health risk: I am skilled at recognising and responding to the physical risks of someone who is low weight with anorexia nervosa or physical risks associated with bulimia. I am skilled in assessing for re-feeding risk and identifying if further physical observations such as bloods tests or ECG’s are required. I am skilled in managing and working with self harm risk and suicidal ideation.

Practice description

I am an experienced Psychological Therapist. I offer one to one support to clients of all ages. I am experienced in working with clients with common mental health difficulties such as depression and anxiety across all ages. I have specific specialised experience in working with more complex presentations such as as Eating Disorders and Trauma.

I have a particular interest in supporting and working with children and young people. This includes working closely with the child, and their family members. I offer short term and long term support. The treatment I offer is evidence based, which means successful outcomes have been proven. I offer a mixture of face to face or remote sessions over the Zoom platform. Online work can be just as effective as face to face work, with some added conveniences/benefits for families.

My first session

I offer a thirty minute free consultation. If you decide to move forward this is followed by booking in a psychological assessment. If you decide to move forward from there, we then book in our weekly sessions.
