About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Relate counsellor, specialising in single and couple relationship counselling. I help you improve communication, resolve conflict, process an affair, and rebuild trust and closeness. If you are having too familiar arguments, feeling unsatisfied in your relationship and considering separation or are just simply exhausted by the demands of young/old family, I am here for you.
Talking to someone objectively, with no connection to yourself or your partner, is often all that is necessary to gain a more positive perspective. I offer an opportunity to speak to someone who has no preconceived notions about you or your relationship, but who does have the training and expertise to guide you.
I am dedicated to helping you get the most out of your relationships, no matter how big or small the issue.
Using an integrated systemic and psychodynamic approach, we will discover a safe space, with or without your partner, where we can explore at your own pace, what is disturbing you or your relationship.
I will help you alone, or with your partner, to make sense of what is going on and help chart the best route.
We will discover ways for you to communicate more effectively, reduce relationship conflict and in doing so, begin to better understand one another.
We will work to unravel misunderstandings, heal slights and begin, in a constructive and helpful way, to approach your most difficult issues.
We may also consider your past and how it might be affecting your present. We will perhaps, chart a course to a different future.
My goal is simply to help you and your partner achieve your own desired outcome.
My first session
To explore if counselling in general, and specifically working with me personally is appropriate, we will hold an initial, free of charge, fifteen-minute phone or zoom conversation
During the first session, we will discuss the issues confronting you and whether individual or couple counselling or perhaps an altogether different service, is required. Further steps include goal setting to clarify our mission, and how we hope to review progress and measure our success.
Sessions normally last fifty minutes. However, extended sessions are clearly appropriate if difficult circumstances dictate. I am totally flexible.
