With the pandemic still unpredictable I am temporarily offering online or phone sessions, though with life returning to normal requests for face to face will be explored with each client.

About me and my therapy practice

When paths are rocky, steep, and winding, we often reach out, looking for balance in our unbalanced world.

Counselling offers that balance, and being the one chosen to accompany you along the path would be a privilege.

Practice description

Before I glaze your eyes over with the modalities I work within, let me tell you the most important part of counselling in my eyes – the relationship between client and counsellor.

At times I will sit quietly and allow you space, at others I will challenge you, but always I will see you and accept who you are.

I am a qualified counsellor with experience in anxiety, bereavement, depression, sexuality, abuse, relationship issues, parenting, and a host of other concerns we all share.  I am trained in drug and alcohol misuse, working with both families and misusers. I have worked in various parts of the country, creating a rich tapestry of experience.

Now for the technical stuff – my BACP accredited training was integrative humanistic; person-centred, gestalt and existential therapies. This means I view humans as able to learn and grow, to see and explore choices available, and to have the autonomy to reach for those they desire. I have a pluralistic practice, allowing me to tailor specific work to specific clients from a number of theories for which I am fully trained.  I am also a qualified Walk & Talk Therapist for those looking to explore what's inside by experiencing what's outside.

Remember, the journey is yours - I'll walk alongside till you find your balance, then step back and watch as you move to the future you choose...

My first session

An introductory session is no charge - we will assess where we both are in the formation of the new relationship.

We will work on expectations for the work and for the structure of sessions.

This is a time for you to see if I'm the one to offer balance, and for me to make sure I'm the one to accompany you.
