About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. This means I am not aligned to one particular model, or approach. Instead I draw on a range of theories and methods such as psychodynamic, humanistic, and CBT. Everyone has their own unique therapeutic journey and whatever brings you to counselling, we will work together creating a space for self-awareness, discovery, and change. My goal is to respectfully meet you where you are on your journey, and help you understand and work through your difficulties so you can move forward and overcome issues you may feel are holding you back. I place a strong emphasis on establishing a working relationship that is respectful, honest, genuine and trustworthy as I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to the process of change. One of my core beliefs as a therapist is the human capacity for growth and that clients of all backgrounds, identities and lifestyles can grow to trust and believe in their own gifts and unique perspectives. I offer my clients a safe, calm and relaxing place to share thoughts and feelings in a confidential setting without fear of judgement. I can help with a wide range of issues and whatever you bring to counselling, together we can work through your problems and find an effective way forward for you.

Practice description

Online therapy is not limited by distance or location. The key difference between online and in-person counselling is that we use technology to conduct the conversation and it can be carried out at a location and time to suit you. I offer a safe and confidential online space for clients with sessions via a secure user friendly platform. It is simple to use with straightforward navigation and without the need to install software to your PC, phone or tablet. All sessions are encrypted and are GDPR and HIPAA compliant. While individuals considering the option of online counselling will need some very basic computer skills, I provide a simple step-by-step guide to getting started. I offer a free 15 minute practice session so you can familiarise yourself with working together online.

I work with clients in the UK and internationally.

My first session

During our first session, we will look together at what is happening for you, how it is affecting different areas of your life, and what you might like to be different. You can ask any questions you might have and we can talk through whether working with me would be a good fit for you.

Counselling can be short term or it can continue for a longer term. I work in an open ended way and we will work according to your needs and natural pace, until you feel able to meet life with hope and resilience and achieve the changes you want to see. I believe that, by coming to therapy, you’re making an investment in yourself so its important that you take time to find the right therapist for you. If you would like an initial conversation or to arrange a meeting, please get in touch.
