About me and my therapy practice
Hi, i'm Denise. I guess you're considering counselling. I appreciate how daunting it can be to take the first step.
You may have had counselling before or be completely new to counselling. Either way I hope to be able to answer any questions you have and offer the support you need to get your first session booked.
I aim to provide a space where you can talk, be heard and understood. I will not judge you or how you’re feeling. We will explore what is bothering you and work towards understanding these feelings and begin to resolve the difficulties you are experiencing.
You have control of the direction and pace of the sessions and it is all about you.
I am here to help you find the best way forward for you and will support you to make positive changes in your life.
If you want to make that change then why not give me a call to arrange a free consultation.
My first session
The initial session is a space for you to talk about what brings you to counselling and what you hope to get from our time together.
It is also a chance for you to see if you feel comfortable with me and if you will be able to talk about the things that are distressing you.
It is important that you decide if I am the right counsellor for you so that you can work towards making the changes in your life that you need to.
This is your journey and we can discuss frequency of sessions etc during this first session.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists, across a range of modalities, and others in the helping profession.
My philosophy is that supervision is there to help you, the supervisee, to learn and grow in your practice and to help you help your clients.
Supervision is a collaborative process where together we can consider how you are working with clients and reflect on the work you are doing. Your new learning can then be taken into your future practice.
I believe supervision is there to help you grow both as an ethical and practical practitioner.
Supervision offers you a space to look at yourself as a practitioner. Allowing you to recognise your strengths, weaknesses and biases and also to evaluate the impact of your work on your life and world.
I welcome counsellors at all stages of their journey, whether you are just starting out as a trainee or are an experienced therapist.
I offer supervision online via zoom or telephone.
Please call or email me for a chat so we can discuss your supervision needs.
