About me and my therapy practice

***I AM CURRENTLY OFFERING ONLINE THERAPY SUPPORT. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING MORE STRESS OR ANXIETY IN THE CURRENT CLIMATE OR YOU ARE FEELING PARTICULARLY ISOLATED PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN CONTACT***

You may feel you manage well in most areas of your life but you find you're experiencing stress or dissatisfaction in one particular life domain - maybe work, work/life balance, something from your past or your sense of achievement.

I work in collaboration with you to address issues which might be causing disruption to your sense of identity, control and achievement, your self-esteem, quality of life or relationships.

I have 11 years post qualifying experience supporting clients with issues including trauma, mental health difficulties and challenging life circumstances in the social care, mental health fields and private practice, working with adults, children/young people and groups.

I work in a trauma-informed way, tailoring therapy to suit your goals and help you aim for success. You then have the space to explore what might be causing disruption in your life at present, becoming more aware of past and present issues so that you can move forward with confidence towards a life worth living, learning the crucial truth that you are worthy of it.

I am a warm, empathetic therapist who will support you to explore sometimes difficult or distressing issues in a safe and boundaried way. I work integratively with different models and approaches that best suit you and the issues you want to bring. I am confidential, non-judgemental and comfortable working with LGBT+ and alternative lifestyles.

I have venues for therapy in Worsley, and Bolton.

About me and my therapy practice

Please refer to my therapist profile if you would like to see how I work as a therapist.

I am integrative supervisor and have been providing supervision support to voluntary and private therapists in a one to one and group work capacity for over 17 years.

Since my therapy and supervisory approach is integrative I am able to work effectively with the varied counselling models my supervisees may bring. My core approach is person-centred so I focus on the relationship between supervisor and counsellor and value and support the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client.

Supervision is a space where the counsellor can explore not only their working practice and how they might best support the needs of the client but also where the supervisee can explore and develop their own personal and professional development in the light of their practice, their interactions and their experiences in therapy and beyond.

As a supervisor I work systemically to support counsellors with  transference/countertransference and insightful enquiry so they can develop skilled and intuitive evidence-based practice which provides effective interventions for their therapy clients and  their working relationships.
