I work in West London (Hammersmith/Ravenscourt Park).

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative child and adolescent counsellor; drawing on various psychological counselling modalities to address the needs of the whole person. I believe in cultivating an environment of “warmth and acceptance” for each client. Time and again, I have seen how through the trust built in the counselling relationship, a young person can develop the confidence and self-belief to move forward in an ever-changing world. I encourage each client to deepen their thinking thereby increasing their own self-awareness which affords better mental well-being.

  • I have 20 years’ experience working with children and young people, first as an English and Drama teacher and for the last 4 years in a counselling capacity (PGDip in Counselling Children and Adolescents)
  • I also work for an established charity TIC+ Counselling in schools across Hammersmith and Fulham

Practice description

  • I often use creative techniques such as sand, art, various games and drama therapies in conjunction with child development knowledge to help the client feel comfortable as well as enabling him/her to access deeper emotions.
  •  I also incorporate solution-focused approaches (CBT/ACT) dependent on what I believe may be helpful for the young person.

I have experience in dealing with the following: anxiety, family relationships, bereavement, domestic violence, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, bullying, self-harm, suicidal ideation, depression, low self-esteem, gender identity, anger, gaming, Covid-19 related issues and OCD.

My first session

The first session will be an assessment to gain information about the young person’s background and presenting problems as well as goals. Parents are welcome to feed into this by means of a phone call/email beforehand.

Although the sessions are strictly confidential, I am happy to give a general update to parents about how things are going at periodic intervals.

Sessions are 50 minutes.
