About me and my therapy practice
Therapy provides a space where you can make sense of your experiences, learn more about yourself, and find new options.
You might be struggling to respond to something that happened to you. Or you might not know what's 'wrong', but be finding life difficult.
Whatever brings you to therapy, I will listen with empathy and understanding and help you to better understand yourself and the choices available to you.
I do this by asking you questions, drawing your attention to your feelings and and encouraging you to connect with your emotions, and listening with empathy and understanding.
I have particular experience working with LGBTQIA+ communities, and my practice is affirming and welcoming to people of all genders, sexualities and relationship styles.
I am an integrative counsellor. This means that I use different approaches depending on your needs and what you bring to therapy.
I will provide a time and space that’s just yours, where we can work together to explore whatever brings you to therapy.
I won’t give you answers; together, we will look at things in new ways, explore patterns, and try out ways of interacting with the world that work for you. I might make suggestions, or share my thoughts at times. My hope is that through this process, you will gain more clarity and more options.
During my training I worked as a voluntary counsellor at a holistic wellbeing and counselling service for LGBTQIA+ people. No matter what your gender or sexuality may be – or whether you are unsure about what they are - I hope this space can be one where all parts of you are welcome, no matter what topics you want to discuss.
I have experience in working with people who have brought many different things to therapy including: the impact of abuse; low self-esteem; anxiety; exploring their gender or sexuality; life changes; trauma.
My first session
I offer an introductory session at £30. This is a chance for us to see what it would be like to work together, and discuss what you want from therapy.
I offer a sliding scale of £50-75. When you come for your initial session we will discuss your fee.
I have a very limited number of lower-cost places available. These are currently fully booked but please enquire if you would like more information.
