About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile, I have worked with a number of clients who have gained a lot from their therapy. I am an honest, empathic and understanding individual who truly cares for the health and wellbeing of my clients.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions they provide.
I believe that counselling gives people the opportunity to invest in themselves to better their future by exploring areas in their lives which challenges their thoughts, feelings, behaviours and emotions.
I work as an integrative counsellor who specialises in Anxiety, Depression and Relationships. However I use a variety of skills and techniques from different theories such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Therapy (PCT) and Gestalt Therapy, this allows me to work with a wide range of client issues and adapt my practice to the way they work best to ensure their therapy is effective because no two people are the same.
If you are struggling with any areas in your life where you feel stuck and/ or would like to explore and learn better ways of coping to help you through the challenging times in your life, please get in touch with me for a chat to discuss what we can arrange to support you.
Practice descriptionI use Person Centred Therapy to underpin my work to engage and promote a strong and trusting relationship with my client. I understand that coming to see a therapist can be worrying, please try to remember that this practice is for you and the opportunity to be yourself in a safe space.
I am not shy to use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Gestalt to challenge my clients and be creative. This is to open my clients mind to help make the unconscious, conscious. This provides the opportunity to promote self-awareness and become unstuck to help them move forwards and feel more complete. (The skills and techniques used in my practice will depend on how my client works best).
I hold the following training to provide this service:
Level Two Award in Counselling Concepts
Level Three Award in Counselling Skills and Theory
Level Four Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
Certificate of Proficiency with the BACP
Statement of Participation for Counselling Online/ Telephone
I am forever continuing my professional development (CPD) to ensure that my knowledge is the strongest it can be and I do this by completing workshops, online training and courses to enhance my practice when working with clients.
My first session
Each session lasts 60 minutes and the cost is £45 per session. I do understand that trying to find the right counsellor to suit your therapy needs can be hard to find so I offer a £30 first session so that you can get to know me and get a feel whether I am the right counsellor for you.
I can offer a concessionary rate for clients who may struggle with the payments so everyone can still access the support they need to better their future.
Payments can be made by cash, card or BACS transfer (although I ask that any transfers are made half an hour before the session starts and any card or cash payments are made at the end of each session).
Due to COVID19 I am now offering telephone counselling to ensure the safety of my clients, however we would need to discuss the confidentiality around doing this type of therapy. Please contact me for prices and more information.
