About me and my therapy practice
I know from experience that life can be tough and throw us many challenges. At times we can feel overwhelmed and it can be difficult to ask for help and speak with family and friends. Counselling and psychotherapy can be one of the ways to help you, and I can provide a safe environment for you to explore your difficulties to help you find some peace, heal and move forward.
The first session will be spent looking at why you have decided to seek support along with your needs and expectations of counselling and how I can help. Therapy usually takes place once a week at an agreed time and day and the sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
I am an experienced qualified psychotherapist, counsellor and EMDR practitioner and have experience of supporting adults, older adults and young people (18-24) within the NHS, private, public and voluntary sectors since 2000 and as a counsellor since 2010. I work with clients in many areas such as trauma, bereavement, disability, abuse, depression, anxiety, feeling sad, acute, chronic and terminal illness, sexuality, ageing, low self-esteem, altered body-image, low confidence, bullying, relationship issues and work concerns.
I currently work in a busy palliative care team within the NHS and have a private practice.
I also supervise individuals and groups within the NHS and privately.
