About me and my therapy practice

I know from experience that life can be tough and throw us many challenges. At times we can feel overwhelmed and it can be difficult to ask for help and speak with family and friends. Counselling can be one of the ways to help you, and I can provide a safe environment for you to explore your difficulties to help you find some peace, heal and move forward.

The first session will be spent looking at why you have decided to seek support along with your needs and expectations of counselling and how I can help. Counselling usually takes place once a week at an agreed time and day and the sessions are 50 minutes in duration.

I am an experienced qualified counsellor and have experience of supporting adults, older adults and young people (16-24) within the NHS, private, public and voluntary sectors since 2001 and as a counsellor since 2010. I work with clients in many areas such as trauma, disability, abuse, depression, anxiety, feeling sad, bereavement, acute, chronic and terminal illness, sexual health and sexuality, ageing, low self-esteem, altered body-image, low confidence, addictions, bullying, relationship issues and work concerns.

I currently work in a busy palliative care team within the NHS and have a private practice. I also supervise individuals and groups within the NHS and privately.

I am an accredited and registered member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
