About me and my therapy practice
As an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 13 years of experience, I offer you a safe and warm space to explore the issues concerning you without fear of judgement and in confidence so as to bring about a deeper understanding of yourself and to improve your mental health and wellbeing.
Perhaps troubling thoughts and anxiety have been overwhelming lately; maybe triggered by relationship issues, bereavement, anxiety, illness, or a whole host of other concerning issues. It may be that these feelings are difficult to express; they may be deeply private or cause distress to others. You may feel embarrassed to even voice them to your family, friends and work colleagues. If this is so, then it is time for you to unburden yourself, to speak candidly about what these issues are, and to be supported by an experienced professional.
Practice description
Initially we meet for a 60 minutes assessment session where we explore what you would like from therapy. It can be long term therapy or, if you prefer short term work. My approach is integrative, therefore drawing from many perspectives including psychoanalytic, existential and person-centred approaches. Together we will look at the issues concerning you and the impact on your life. We will look at coping strategies and how to resolve present day difficulties. To do this we will look at childhood experiences through to today and get a sense of why these experiences bear heavily down on you today. Our shared goal is to help you feel better about your life.
My first session
Initially I offer a free telephone consultation. If you then decide to take things forward, we can to arrange to meet for a 1 hour assessment. We will explore; what brings you to therapy, what you aim to achieve, and what outcomes you would like.
