About me and my therapy practice
I am passionate about what i do and truly believe in the value of the therapeutic relationship.
Research suggests that the therapeutic relationship is key to successful therapy, feeling that you can trust and share your inner most thoughts and feelings with your therapist is extremely important and i hope our initial session together will help you in deciding if my approach and style of counselling is the right fit for you.
I work using an integrative approach, meaning i use a variety of approaches along with my knowledge and skills to draw on interventions to tailor my approach for individual clients.
Our sessions are directed by what you wish to discuss. My approach offers you a no pressure, strictly confidential space in which to speak freely about whatever difficulties you are facing and be truly listened to without judgement.
I offer counselling sessions face to face, online or over the telephone, my hours are flexible and i work evenings.

Counselling offers you the opportunity to help make sense of, and explore, at your own pace, any issues that may be impacting your life and/or relationships within a safe, comfortable and confidential space.
To help you decide if you feel that i am the right counsellor for you, I offer a free telephone or online assessment where we can have a brief informal chat about what's bothering you. It is also a great chance to see whether you feel comfortable talking to me and the chat will only take around 15 minutes. If we are both happy after that, then i can usually arrange your first session within one week.
My first session
I can appreciate that coming to therapy can feel quite scary, especially if it is your first time, you may be feeling worried about not knowing where to start to talk about what it is that's bothering you.
I will help you to feel comfortable and at ease in our first session by gently getting you to tell me a little about yourself, to give us a chance to get to know one another and for you to decide if you feel comfortable enough with me and the way I work.
