About me and my therapy practice

You may be thinking about counselling because you are feeling distressed about a life event or something in the past or present is really troubling you.

Maybe your feelings are too much or are difficult to cope with. You may want support with and more understanding of anger or fear, anxiety or feeling low, or you may know something is not right but not exactly what.

Counselling can help in many ways with things like building self-esteem and increasing self-awareness to empower you to make different choices in life.

Asking for help and accessing support can feel very difficult and sometimes overwhelming and we will work to help alleviate this. As a Person-Centred therapist I offer an environment that is warm, confidential and free from judgement. I will work to help you feel safe and to build a trusting relationship that can help you to feel able to share difficult things. It’s a partnership and requires commitment and time.

I  will offer a safe supportive confidential space where together we can explore your feelings and experiences as I believe you have within you the ability to work out what is best for you.

I an an experienced therapist and I have worked with many issues including depression, anxiety, self-harm, stress, personal relationships, health issues, trauma, family issues, maternal mental health, bereavement and loss, anger, low self-esteem and self-hatred.

In this first session we will discuss in much more detail the reasons that brought you to therapy and I can explain how I work and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
