About me and my therapy practice
As a humanistic counsellor my client work tends to be longer term due my person centred approach, however clients may come with a specific goal in mind and complete their therapy over a shorter or planned period of time if they wish.
When the therapeutic relationship has developed and when my clients feel better prepared, their deeper work can take place.
This is the most important aspect for me as a counsellor and where my passion for my work lies.
My counselling work has involved supporting clients through many difficulties such as low mood; anxieties including their routines and rituals; loss and bereavement; relationship difficulties within families or with partners; adjustment to chronic illness; sexuality and gender awareness and acceptance; self harm and controlling behaviours; and self medication through misuse of substances and alcohol.
I have experience of working with a drug and alcohol reach out service offering time limited sessions and with a community counselling service offering longer term work.
I have held a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Humanistic) qualification since 2017.
Practice description
Now that I am in private practice my supervision is more important to me than ever before. In addition to meeting with my peers to ensure there is a link between myself and the network of counsellors around me, my supervision is invaluable. Without an agency available to support, my supervisor is my guide: my motivator and more! If you are looking for your first supervisor, or need to find someone new, then I hope to offer this resource to you.
My supervision training incorporated the Hawkins and Shohet Seven Eyed Model which I have felt very comfortable using as the foundation of my supervision sessions. I believe it is important as a supervisor to get to know your clients and the model encourages this to take place before moving onto their narrative and how you are working with them. The seven eyed model also supports you in your role as the counsellor by reflecting on your experience with your clients and exploring the relationship between you.
I hold a Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision including Online and Telephone Work, which allows me to offer supervision remotely as well as face to face, and to supervise your face to face and/or remote client work.
Please contact me if you would like to have an informal conversation about what you feel that you need. The informal conversation is offered without a fee and either by phone or using Zoom.
60 and 90 minute supervision sessions are offered depending on your needs.
Sessions are charged £45 for 60 minutes and £55 for 90 minutes.
Concession rates are available for students who require additional supervision in placement.
My first session
Between our informal conversation and the first session I’ll send you a copy of our agreement. The agreement can be discussed during the first session and we will have a look at your client caseload. You will have an opportunity to tell me what you feel that you need from your supervision in addition to what we would normally expect from having supervision sessions.

About me and my therapy practice
Sitting in a room with someone whom you have only just met, and then sharing about yourself with that person, is very likely to be a strange or even uncomfortable concept. This may also be the case when meeting someone online. However, once the counselling room or the space around you when online becomes more familiar to you, your counselling experience has the potential to be very valuable and possibly life changing.
If you think that you may benefit from counselling, or it has been recommended to you, I would encourage you to take the first step and call me to discuss what your needs are. When you feel ready you can book an introductory/ assessment session with me (which is offered at a reduced fee), and during that session you can experience what it would be like for us to work together. This helps to ensure that I am the right counsellor for you and your needs.
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor who is registered with the BACP, and I can offer you time set aside just for you.
Each counselling session aims to enable you to explore life events; your relationships; your feelings and emotions; and your patterns of behaviour. You know yourself the best, but some feelings and experiences may be buried so deeply that you can’t access them without someone else's support. Your counselling can help you learn more about yourself and understand your emotions, and can give you an opportunity to explore areas of your life and look at how they might be improved.
It can be difficult to imagine feeling ‘different’ ‘better’ or ‘happy’, or believe that change and a better quality of life is possible. Whatever your reason for accessing counselling, I will be there to provide the safe and supportive environment for you to grow and develop, to become more aware of yourself, to make changes for you to enjoy your life, and to enjoy being you!
Practice description
As a person centred counsellor my aim is to demonstrate that I am empathic, trustworthy and non judgmental, and to offer a counselling space which is intended to be supportive and healing.
If you are unsure what help you need or you don’t know ‘where to start’, we can work that out together. Alternatively, if you have thoughts and ideas about what you need to work through then that's fine too. If you have had counselling before, you might like to tell me worked well or not so well for you. Your counselling will be at a pace that you feel comfortable with and by reviewing your progress regularly you will have the opportunity to feedback to me how you are experiencing your counselling.
All my counselling sessions are currently online using Zoom.
I do not have availbility for face to face sessions currently
