About me and my therapy practice
Having headed multiple psychotherapy departments and supervised multidisciplinary teams across localities in the UK, I now offer private supervision only to trainees and qualified clinicians across different ways of working. I am qualified to supervise through the British Psychological Society (BPS). Psychodynamic supervision may be required for your work, or may relate to an aspect you would like to bring more of to your work. Its focus on emotion and subsequent response to emotion is why it continues to be relavant and rich in contemporary work.
My fee for private supervision is £70. If we meet to hold clinical aspects of your post within a health organisation my fee is £90, as is insured contact. For other bespoke ways of working such as assessments or adapted work please do feel free to get in touch to discuss.

What Is Psychodynamic Therapy?
The first session will be an initial consultation which will last for fifty minutes. It is important that you feel comfortable with me in order for us to establish the trust to work on personal issues you might not feel able to discuss with anyone else. In this time we will determine whether ongoing therapy would be helpful, or if a suitable referral would be best to address the issue, and likewise whether or not you are comfortable working with me and finding the space helpful.
Having agreed to work together, sessions may be once or twice weekly for fifty minutes. On occasion they may be less frequent. These may last for as few as six weeks, with short term counselling, to over a year, with open-ended contact, depending on what your goal is and how severe your symptoms are.

About me and my therapy practice
Seeking therapy can be a confusing process; one complicated by the fact that many come during a time of crisis. I provide a supportive, confidential space where we can think openly, free of judgement, about different aspects of you and your life. I offer psychodynamic therapy, both once and twice a week, at a private clinic in Headington, Oxford.
I have worked across a wide range of clinical settings: private healthcare, NHS, university, school and forensic. I have experience in primary residential settings, outpatients, secondary and tertiary education, working with families, groups and organisations, running health services and conducting psychological assessments within high risk environments. The focus of my work is working age adults, however I will accept ages 16+.
Originally, I trained at the University of Oxford in psychodynamic practice over a period of four years, and have ongoing research interests in lifespan development, personality problems, long forms of depression and anxiety, and sex and sexuality. I hold membership with the UK Council for Psychotherapy, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association. Alongside general practice, I hold specialist clinics at specific times for matters around academic life and for performing arts. I founded my company Oxford Psychodynamics to best facilitate this.
