About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Therapeutic Counselling Supervisor with a CPCAB l6 qualification in supervision.

My Core training is Integrative however I see supervision as a collegial process and feel I work in a more person centred way with supervisee's.

I currently work in private practice working in comfortable office in Wadebridge, I additionally have the use of an office in Bodmin.

I am able to work online if required and will subject to discussion be available for home visits/travel a reasonable distance.

Me as an individual -  I have worked within the military and emergency services to the age of 50 followed by study and work with adults with learning disabilities (I prefer difference). I am passionate about my work and about protecting and encouraging the individual ethical growth of supervisee's.

I named by practice gentle way as this is a direct translation of the word Judo which taught me about balance with this being present within my work.  Whilst I have the capacity and resilience to work with difficult issues I am by nature a kind, honest, respectful individual who strongly believes in the development of a safe therapeutic relationship.

Whilst I take my work seriously I do not believe our work together has to always be about serious engagement as appropriate humour can also have it place.

I feel that clients and peers would best describe me as passionate yet easy going.

If you need to know more about me please feel free to contact me

Practice description

Whilst I see supervision from the perspective of the BACP ethical framework and good guidance I see it mostly as a collegial process where the supervisee feels safe enough to review their work and to ask ethical questions of themselves.

The seven eyed model of supervision sits at the centre of my work and can bring a wider and more insightful understanding of the subtle nuances of relationship and context in which we work.

I have a particular interest in working with student counsellors to support them in their personal development by bringing an understanding of supervision and how to make best use of it.

My first session

The first supervision session will be very much about you getting a feel for me as a supervisor and for the two of us to decide if we can work together and how we would do this.
