About me and my therapy practice
I am Yorkshire born & bred from a working class background, no clinical or fluffy stuff just real down to earth conversations that hopefully help you to find you.
Conversation, laughter, swearing and maybe some random resources if we feel they fit are what I'm about. Easy, relaxed and real. I can offer walk talk sessions if you prefer to not work face to face in a therapy room or online.
Within organisations I work in a way that fits the client. The person sat with me at the time of the session is my focus and what matters.
As I work within businesses and schools, staff are often concerned about the confidentiality of the sessions, I do not share the content of the sessions (unless there is a safeguarding concern or anything relating to the clauses set out in the counselling agreement); however if there is a general theme recurring I may share this with management but all staff remain anonymous.
Management are usually forgiving and allow staff to take up to 2 hours fortnightly for the sessions, as although sessions themselves are either 30 or 50mins in length, sometimes staff need some time afterwards to compose themselves or simply take a time out.
The longer I am based within a company or school the more I feel a shift in the culture of visiting me as 'staff support'. The stigma around having a hard time and needing to 'cover it up' becomes lessened and staff begin to feel comfortable visiting the 'professional listener'.
Please contact me for more information to see how we can make this work for your staff.

Our first session is technically known as an initial consultation.
After your first contact I offer you my availability for a brief 15-20min telephone call.
We discuss a brief overview of what has brought you to this point, availability & fees. If we agree to work with each other I'll email our counselling agreement that I'd ask you to sign and return.
