About me and my therapy practice

My supervisors training is person centred, NCS approved and focuses on empowering my supervisees to feel confident and competent in their practice as a therapist. I nurture and empower, whilst holding clients to the appropriate ethical and legal standards.

I have worked using a person centred, Integrative and Transactional Analysis perspective. I am qualified in Transactional Analysis (PG-Dip) and have completed NCS endorsed training to work with Children and Young People in a person centred way.

I currently hold UKCP Registration, BACP Registration and I am looking into the BACP Accreditation process.

I have worked extensively with male clients, in schools, a prison setting and in private practice.

I work long term with my adult clients and short term with my child clients.

About me and my therapy practice

If you're tired of defaulting to another's standard and want to figure out your path, therapy with me can be really empowering, filled with growth, discovery and realised potential. Psychotherapy can be an exciting journey, emotional and liberating. Let your resilience and humour help you navigate through the tough times.

I do not believe that mindfulness and gratitude practice will make your life better. I believe that if you work out what feelings, thoughts and behaviours keep you stuck in unwanted places and untangle that pressure you can begin to build a more enjoyable life for yourself. Once you are living the way that suits your authenticity, you will naturally become more mindful and feel more grateful.

I will guide you to a place of calm and perspective, where you can put your past behind you, feel secure with new boundaries that you have created for yourself, and love the future that you are living.

I work predominantly with anxiety, depression, trauma, cPTSD, including having lived with undiagnosed neuro-diversity, or living with neurodiverse family members.

I am a Child Counsellor and Adult Psychotherapist trained in Transactional Analysis but I utilise many different humanistic and relational models within my practice. This means that I listen to what you bring in to the room and together we work out how to best meet your needs and expectations through the therapy.

Practice description

I work online throughout the week, or out of The Mowbray Clinic, Melton Mowbray, on a Wednesday.

I provide a reflective, nurturing and challenging environment to aid you in navigating your way to becoming the person you want to be.

I won't hold you to unacceptable standards, nor will I judge you and how you get through the tough times. Instead we will focus on what you need to make the life you have reflect the person who you are.

My first session

When working online I offer a free 15 minute consultation so that you can get an idea of what it will be like using the computer for therapy.

There are no assessments as standard, but I can assess anxiety levels, depression levels and trauma exposure by using standardised forms. This is only relevant if you would like to compare these results at various points in our work together. They would be for your benefit and not for the benefit of my practice.

I do not diagnose neurodiversity, nor do I prescribe medication.

When working from The Mowbray Clinic, there are toilet facilities and a comfortable waiting area. The room is only accessible via the stairs.
