About me and my therapy practice

Hi I am Carol. Thank you for reading my information.

I am qualified Person Centre counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, with many years of experience, working with a variety of different issues.

As a counsellor, I have an informal style, and have an open, friendly personality.  I offer a safe, non-judgemental and accepting space to support you to talk through your issues, experiences, emotions and thinking styles, to enable you to learn more about yourself and make positive changes in your life, where necessary.  We will work together as a team to explore and identify issues and create strategies to help you cope better or to find solutions to your problems.  Together we will talk through your life events that have influenced your development and I will listen with compassion and empathy.

I use an integrative model of counselling, with a grounding in Person Centred theory and some CBT to look at connections between your thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour. This means that I use a combination of Person-Centred counselling, psychotherapy skills, and psycho-education to promote self-awareness and self-understanding, to enable you to develop and make changes where necessary.

Counselling should be therapeutic but can also be difficult and challenging.  Therefore as a counsellor I believe it is important for me to be empathetic towards your experiences and to show respect towards your life and way of being.

I try my best to be flexible and make counselling accessible to all and I have worked for many years alongside many people who identify as different, Neuro-divergent or just feel ostracized or alone.

I welcome any questions, whilst you consider your choices, so please feel free to get in touch.

Practice description

Currently I am offering either face to face counselling sessions, sessions online through video call or webchat.

I offer a free introductory discussion about your needs and to discuss what I can offer.  You are welcome to email me or call.

Sessions cost £55 for a 50 minute session, with time afterwards to assess the session, identify anything important for following sessions and to organise the following appointments.

Unfortunately I am currently unable to off reduced fees, however savings can be made by block bookings.

6 Prepaid Sessions  £300

12 Sessions £550

*I recommend you book 1 or 2 appointments before paying for a block booking.

**Note, if sessions are cancelled before the end of prepaid block bookings, then a refund will be given and attended sessions charged at the full price of £55.00 per session.  For more information regarding this please ask.
