About me and my therapy practice
I would welcome hearing from you about what's brought you to seek counselling. The way I work is led by the needs of each individual person, and I can bring my experience as a qualified counsellor and cognitive behavioural therapist to support you with what you'd like to focus on.
My experience includes working in the NHS both as a counsellor and CBT therapist, and as a counsellor in specialist services helping people with the impact of sexual and domestic abuse; bereavement and in frontline work.
I offer a collaborative and grounded working relationship where you can expect a safe and respectful place to explore your emotions and experiences and feel less alone with any problems you are facing.
We can find ways for you can re-connect with your existing resources; develop new perspectives and techniques and address any unhelpful patterns, if that's what you'd like to do.
It is important to me, that you can achieve change that is meaningful to you and I will support you with your focus for counselling as you see it.
I have experience working with:
anxiety
depression
trauma and PTSD
low self esteem
experiences of abuse and sexual violence in childhood or adulthood
relationship and family problems
work related problems
bereavement and loss
life changes and transitions
loneliness and isolation
'inner critic'
changing unhelpful or unwanted patterns
anger
self harm
substance and alcohol use
panic attacks
obsessive compulsive disorder
phobias
health and social anxiety
