I am currently available between 18.30 and 20.30 on weekdays and between 11.00 and 15.00 on Saturdays. Sundays are a possibility and we can discuss this option.
About me and my therapy practice
People come to counselling for many reasons, often at times when things feel confusing, heavy, or hard to carry alone. I offer a warm, respectful, safe space where you can talk openly and be met with care, curiosity, and honesty.
Practice description
I have over 25 years’ experience as a counsellor and work in a friendly, empathic, and informal way. I try to avoid “counsellor speak” and aim to offer a space that feels natural, respectful, and easy to be in.
I work with individual adults (18+), couples, and families, supporting people across the lifespan, from early adulthood through later life and end-of-life concerns. People come to see me with a wide range of experiences, including loss, grief, trauma, fear, life transitions, and the process of making sense of themselves and their lives.
My aim is to help you feel at ease and safe enough to talk openly, at your own pace. There is no pressure to move faster than feels comfortable. I work alongside you, listening carefully and offering reflections and gentle prompts, rather than advice about how to live your life.
I originally trained in psychodynamic counselling and also draw on humanistic, person-centred, and CBT approaches. In practice, I work in a person-led way, adapting how I work to suit each individual’s needs and personality.
My first session
After your initial enquiry, we can arrange a brief, informal call to see whether working together feels right. You’re welcome to come back and ask questions by phone or video before deciding, and there’s no charge for this.
At our first meeting we’ll take things gently and get to know each other, with space for you to talk about whatever feels right for you.
Our sessions will be for 50 minutes, with time to then arrange our next session, so usually end up being around an hour.
