About me and my therapy practice

Perhaps you haven’t been feeling yourself recently?

Maybe something happened to you, or you’re struggling at work/school or with a relationship and you’d like more peace in your life? Life is full of ups and downs, and it can be exhausting pretending to be ok all the time.

I’m Emma, a qualified Integrative Counsellor working with young women. I have a psychology and teaching background, and have worked in schools supporting young women for over 15 years. I offer a safe and confidential space where you can feel valued and heard. A place to explore how you feel, gain more clarity, and build confidence.

Whatever your circumstances, therapy can be the first step in an empowering journey of self-awareness and transformational change. Seeking support can require a lot of courage, yet counselling can be an incredibly positive process of healing, leading to more fulfilling healthy relationships with self and others and a stronger sense of self-worth and self-compassion.

I believe we all have within us the strength and resources to uniquely grow, flourish and have more self-acceptance. Each person seeing a counsellor has different needs or concerns, some examples may be: anxiety, bereavement, bullying, feeling low or sad, low self esteem, pregnancy and birth, relationship concerns or breakdown, grief, spirituality, stress etc.

My core way of working is Person-Centred and I integrate other models such as Transactional Analysis (TA), Psychodynamic, Transpersonal Approach, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also love to work creatively e.g. through art or meditation, if the client feels open to this. Expressing in a non-verbal way can help reach deeper and sometimes more inaccessible parts of ourselves.

Practice description

My sessions are 50 minutes long and I work mostly online. If you would like face-to-face this can easily be arranged and the location would either be in Wandsworth or Fulham, London. We can also hold the session outside (weather permitting) and walk and talk together if you prefer to be moving and in a nature-based setting.

I can offer a free initial 15 minute telephone/Google Meet consultation to see if you would like to work together.
