Practice description
Clients new to therapy work often ask me why counselling or psychotherapy might help them. The basic premise of therapy is easy to understand. It is simply a small, regular window of time dedicated solely to thinking and talking about you, your life and your relationships. That time is facilitated by an experienced, well qualified person who is willing to figuratively walk beside you with objectivity, insight, and greater clarity. It’s a place to unpack your thoughts, understand your feelings better and work towards resolving or improving the things that are causing you distress.
As well as working with individuals, I am also an experienced couples relationship and psychosexual psychotherapist, with specialist training in understanding and treating sexual dysfunctions and difficulties.
It may or may not be that therapy is the right choice for you at the moment. The best way to decide, is to get in touch with me and schedule an initial consultation where we can confront the challenges you are struggling with, and come up with a plan to help you to move forward.
My first session
Please get in touch with me via email to arrange an initial one hour consultation. This session will give you the chance to meet me and consider whether or not I am someone you feel you can work with. It also gives me the opportunity to hear in some detail, the things that you wish to work on and the changes you want to make to your life.
Depending on the issues you bring to therapy, I may or may not feel that I am the right or best person to support you in your work. If this is the case I will usually be able to suggest other therapists that may be a better fit for you.
Please note that this initial one hour consultation is charged at £50.00
