About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am Inez. I am a qualified and experienced MBACP integrative counsellor specialising in supporting people through grief, bereavement, and times of profound change.

Loss can shake the foundations of our lives. Alongside the pain of missing someone, grief often brings deeper questions - about meaning, identity, mortality, and how to live in a world that feels permanently changed. You may feel disoriented, disconnected, or unsure who you are now or what matters anymore. Counselling offers a quiet, compassionate space to sit with these questions, without needing immediate answers.

I have over three years’ experience working in a bereavement agency in London, supporting adults through loss during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, I worked with people facing sudden and unexpected deaths, isolation, and complex grief, often alongside existential concerns about fairness, uncertainty, and the fragility of life. This work has strongly shaped my belief that grief is not something to “get over,” but something that changes us and calls for reflection, meaning, and care.

I support people who are newly bereaved, those whose loss happened some time ago, and those who feel that grief has resurfaced during periods of transition. I also work with non-death losses, such as the end of a relationship, changes in health, identity, or life direction - experiences that can similarly challenge our sense of self and purpose.

Practice description

My approach is thoughtful, relational, and gently existential in nature. This means I am interested not only in symptoms, but in how you experience your life, relationships, values, and sense of meaning - especially during times of change.

In our sessions, we may explore how grief and loss have affected your sense of identity, your relationships, and your view of the world. We might reflect on questions such as Who am I now? What has been lost alongside the person? How do I live with uncertainty? What still feels meaningful? These conversations unfold at your pace, and there is no pressure to find neat conclusions.

Grief can be felt in the body as well as the mind, so we may also look at ways to ground and soothe yourself when emotions feel overwhelming. When words feel limited, I can offer creative approaches, gentle embodied work, or walk-and-talk sessions outdoors, which some people find supportive when thinking feels stuck or heavy.

Above all, I offer a steady and respectful presence, walking alongside you as you find your own way of living with loss and change.

Throughout our work together, I am guided by the BACP Ethical Framework, working with care, integrity, and respect for your autonomy.

My first session

I offer an initial 30-minute introductory session (£30), giving us the opportunity to meet and see whether this feels like the right support for you. Ongoing sessions are 60 minutes (£60), with concessionary rates available depending on circumstances.

Sessions are available face-to-face in Edinburgh, online, by phone, or as outdoor walk-and-talk sessions.

If you are grieving, questioning, or navigating a time of transition, you are very welcome to get in touch. You don’t need to have clear answers - just a sense that you would like space to reflect and be heard.
