About me and my therapy practice

Deciding to start therapy is a big step for many people and, it is vitally important to feel safe and in good hands. Acknowledging this, I underwent several years of rigorous training at accredited training institutes, and have spent over ten years working in clinical, charity and educational settings. I offer counselling and psychotherapy for children, teenagers and adults, online and in-person. I also offer parent-work, a reflective space focused on the parent-child relationship.

I agree, that the therapeutic alliance is central to the activation of change in individuals. We will work together to create a safe environment and an approach that meets your needs, focusing on what you want to gain from therapy. My skills are integrative, and a psychodynamic framework informs my thinking. I am also trained in the facilitation of the arts in therapy. Young people, children and adults who find non-verbal communication helpful, are welcome to use the arts and play alongside taking therapy.

Before opening this practice, a large portion of my work took place in schools, including managing several school based therapy services, and providing supervision to trained and trainee therapists. Most recently, I worked in a specialist NHS service, supporting survivors of acute and historic sexual abuse. As a result of my work, I now specialise in several clinical areas.

These include:

Sexual violence, including pre-trial cases

Trauma recovery

Children & young-people

General Counselling

About me and my therapy practice

I am undergoing a level 6 clinical supervision training with my employer Place2be, and currently offering two free weekly supervisee placements until October 2024. The two supervisee's will need to be able to commit to a minimum of 10 weekly appointments.

My supervision model combines psychodynamic insight alongside Inskipp and Proctor’s functional framework, and draws from over 10 years of experience working within diverse settings including schools, mental health charities, and the NHS, with all age groups. Central to my approach is a deep commitment to creating a nurturing and supportive environment where therapists can feel empowered to explore their strengths and challenges. My robust ethical grounding from years of experience will help you to navigate through complex ethical considerations. I hope to support further self-awareness and analytic ability while fostering a supportive environment where you can explore your professional identity and boundaries within a safe, collaborative thinking space.
