                             ------------------------------------

Hello,

I offer counselling sessions for individuals aged 14 years old or over.

Sessions can be conducted either:

- Face-to-face, or

- Video conferencing (via Microsoft Teams)

If you live in Aberdeen, I am happy to offer walk-and-talk therapy during daytime (weather-dependent), in one of the Aberdeen garden parks.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my profile. My name is Lynda Chebbihi, and I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and Trauma Therapist.

I have a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of Aberdeen (with commendations), accredited by COSCA (the Scottish Professional Body for Psychotherapists and Counsellors). I am a registered member of the BACP, and I comply with their Ethical Framework for Good Practice (which you can find in the BACP website). I also hold a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Levels CCTP/CCTP-II.

I have developed significant experience working with individuals who experienced traumatic events (war, sexual/physical abuse, natural disasters, COVID-19 etc). The experience that I gained through my professional career path as a counsellor working with the public, students, and NHS staff. Also, through my previous volunteering work I undertook, for instances, with the Samaritans and the Algerian Red Crescent.

I coffer you a safe, confidential and collaborative relationship in which we explore together any associated posttraumatic symptoms, suicidal thoughts, relationship issues, stress and anxiety you are experiencing. With the ultimate therapeutic goals of helping you to become congruent and to improve how you perceive yourself to live a healthier life.

Practice description

My practice is framed within the humanistic Rogerian Person-Centred approach which fundamentally believes on everyone's ability to grow and thrive. This, by trusting your own process to find your inner resources and strengths, to build awareness, and to make sense and find new meanings to your life better aligned with your true self.

I can offer counselling session either in English, French or Arabic (North Africa).

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need further information.

My first session

The initial session is free of charge and lasts up to 50 minutes. It allows us to introduce ourselves and find out if I can help you with your enquiries, and organise our upcoming therapy sessions. We will also discuss the working terms and your goals.

Thereafter, the following counselling sessions also last 50 minutes in duration, and cost 50GBP per session. This, regardless of the way counselling sessions are undertaken (in-person, online or telephone).

For students and unwaged individuals, the fee is 25GBP per session (that is a 50% discounted rate).

Ideally, we will meet on a weekly basis (unless agreed otherwise) at a date and time that suit you. You are free to stop at any time and terminate the counselling agreement, whether therapy is open-ended or time limited. However, I recommend to have a last session to acknowledge the work we have done together.
