About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Angie and I help people who have been through (or are going through) tough times, experiencing change or just feeling stuck.

During my career, I have supported many individuals who have faced challenges such as domestic abuse, using drugs or alcohol too much, feel sad or worried or have got into trouble with the law. I also help people overcome things they should never have seen or experienced. My main goal is to help you live a happier, more fulfilled life.

Alongside my private practice, I provide counselling support to secondary schools, deliver workshops and support the charity MIND by helping clients dealing with developmental trauma, PTSD and C-PTSD arising from traumatic experiences such as abuse in childhood or later life. I invest in additional clinical supervision with a trauma specialist to support this vital work.

Practice description

I believe everyone deserves a safe place to talk about their feelings and get the support they need, especially when they feel stuck, stressed or are going through big changes. I welcome lots of different people and work affirmatively with diversity; it doesn't matter if you're a young person dealing with tough stuff or an adult going through big changes. I really enjoy working with young people and have spent over twenty five years helping teenagers with a range of issues in different places like mainstream schools, specialist educational and in-patient settings.

I'm not sure how many sessions I will need and where are you?

I offer both short and long-term counselling and we can meet face-to-face or online via a secure platform, whichever works best for you; I also have some evening appointments available. I am situated on Wadhurst High Street, the perfect place to treat yourself to a really good coffee or a tasty treat (according to me and the Sunday Times, no less!) and I am conveniently placed between Wadhurst and Stonegate train stations.

My first session

When we work together, you can expect me to be open, caring and non-judgemental. I work in an integrative and trauma-informed way which means I draw on a range of techniques personalised to your specific needs. During our sessions, we'll talk about your experiences, how they've affected you and I'll offer you tools to move forward with strength and courage.

Our first session together will involve a clinical assessment.  This is nothing to be worried about; it is simply an opportunity for me to  understand what brings you to counselling at this time and an opportunity for us both to get a feel if we're a good match for each other moving forwards.
