About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP registered psychotherapist offering online support via Zoom or telephone, I offer a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, working together to help you find away forward from whatever you are experiencing.

Practice description

As an Integrative therapist,  I blend my theoretical approach specific to your needs. Trust is so important for you feel safe to share what is going on for you. I understand how this can take time, particularly if you have felt let down in another relationship. Guilt and shame or the sense of despair can often feel like a barrier in seeking help. Taking the first steps of  asking for support takes courage. I don't want you to fear being judged in anyway. I believe in a collaborative approach, working towards your desired outcome. Initially, this is exploring your thoughts and feelings and gradually helping you find you, the person you may feel you have lost through your difficult circumstances.

We all experience challenging and unexpected seasons in our life, such as, losing a loved one, a relationship breakdown, struggling with our identity  and other challenges specific to our situation. Our natural reaction can be feel we just need to carry on and suffer in silence. This may be where you are ar right now and feel like 'walking in treacle'  which is a very lonely place. ignoring painful feelings can become overwhelming and lead to negative ways of coping which are unhelpful to us. This is a natural response to pain.

Therapy is an opportunity to draw a line in the sand and turn the corner to a new way of 'being' and/or 'doing.' This begins with our work together, exploring your feelings and making sense of them. Gradually through a process of healing and change, you will feel become stronger and develop helpful ways of managing your past. This could be working towards acceptance of the past and/or becoming aware of triggers. By developing alternative helpful and enjoyable ways of managing challenges, life becomes happier, leading to a greater sense of self-fulfilment and balance in relationships, work and home life.
